Our Story

Born and raised in LA, I never thought I would ever move. At 18 years old, two weeks after burying my oldest brother, I met a guy who I was far from interested in while in my Spanish class in college. Within a matter of a month, we were dating. 4 years later, we were married with a little boy and he was off to join the military.

After giving birth to my son, I felt completely out of place. I no longer felt comfortable or confident in my new body. I began to struggle with my self esteem. Although I didn’t feel quite like myself, my friends and family still depended on me for my sound advice. I was able to pick myself up and learn how to love the new me while helping my friends and family figure out their own life. I have always been the voice of reason for my loved ones. It wasn’t until I was much older where I realized that I was able to not only help my loved ones but I could also help complete strangers. People would reach out to me from all walks a life to tell me about what they were going through in hopes that I was able to help them find a path that was not only walkable but lovable.

This is why I started Iphannie: Be Gentle Podcast. I believe people should learn how to be gentle with themselves and realize that everyday is a chance to have a fresh new start. We must also realize at times, we just need a voice of reason, a voice that tells you that it’s OK to feel shitty as long as you pick yourself back up and keep pushing forward, a voice that tells you that you’re doing a great job, a voice that is stern but loving. I am that voice for my friends, family, and now you as well. We will cover everything from love and relationships to beauty and health and everything in between. My name is Iphannie and this is the Iphannie: Be Gentle Podcast.
